Spurs Aim for Pirates
Wednesday, 24 February 2010
On Wednesday night, Match day-18 sees the Sam Nujoma Stadium abuzz as Hotspurs takes on Orlando Pirates in the clash of David and Goliath.

Pirates were held one-all by SKW last week to curb their momentum at the championship race, but victory against Spurs at 20h00 will ensure they overtake African Stars at the top, albeit for few days.

Pirates are sitting in second place with 33 points, two behind Stars with Hotspurs still languishing in the last position of the table notwithstanding some promising result of late that have taken their seasonal tally of points to 12, to put them four points away from escaping relegation.

Spurs last time out lost 1-0 to Tigers last Wednesday and now faces another stern test against another traditional powerhouse of local football, in David Snewe’s men in black and white.

“It is just another game that we need to win because we need the points and we will give all to ensure that happens”, said Spurs coach Willem Kapukare this week.

The last time the two sides met, Pirates were 2-1 victors, a result that Spurs would have to revert as they get round 18 of action underway.
